The Pursuit of Happiness

My first poem....

The pursuit of happiness
Search for a treasure in the wilderness
Is it the end or is it endless?
The pursuit of happiness

Its my right but still i have to fight
A rare time when its not against others' might
Its within me but still out of sight
Its only i who can show me the light

The pursuit of happiness....

The road is so slippery
One moment seems victory
At the next you are in a misery
Is there any who can claim mastery

The learned say it is a temporary emotion
Some proclaim it is just a deception
Many say it was lost at the time of creation
But i wont stop till i can shout in elation

The pursuit of happiness
Search for a treasure in the wilderness
Is it the end or is it endless
The pursuit of happiness

The bliss is in smiling & loving;
& to be with, who are worth it,

It is in designing & creating;
& in appreciating things that we love (it);

It is in dreaming & achieving;
& to trumpet that you’ve done it,

It is in learning & innovating;
& in believing that it(knowledge) persists,

It is in being curious & inquiring;
& to let it (mind) wander - not to resist,

It is in living & being;
& in knowing that we exist,

The Bliss is all around you;
& it is in being alive,

Its been there & nothing is new;
realize, recognize & you'll thrive.

With love

Shri Aurobindo’s Secret of Veda - Veda Saar

  One of the flourishing and foundational orchards of the vast and glorious plantation of Bhartiya Sabhyata ( Indian Civilization) are the Vedas. The Vedas are a majestic and unparalleled heritage of all Indians, despite their caste, creed, panth (religion). The fruits of Vedas have nourished our land for the past 5000 years or even more. Hence I thoroughly believe that we as Bhartiyas (Indians) should at the very least have a basic understanding of its essence.  Rig Veda is the most ancient and most voluminous of the four Vedas and also serves as a foundational text for the entire Vedic Corpus. Through a rich tapestry of poetic verses, Rig Veda conveys various philosophical, spiritual, and cosmological ideas. Over the centuries many Rishis, Acharyas and commentators have tried to translate and interpret it. In my limited knowledge and reading, I found ‘ The Secret of the Veda ’ by Shri Aurobindo, to be a profound and critical examination of the core...

Advaita’s Wisdom: Illuminating the Oneness of Existence

Recently, I came across a very insightful speech by the UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath , where he spoke about Adi Shankaracharya and Varanasi. He narrated an episode from Adi Shankara's life, which is also mentioned in Manisha Panchakam and Sankara Digvijaya . One morning, during Brahma Muhurta (around 3-4 am), Adi Shankara was on his way to take a dip in the river Ganga. On the way, he encountered a ‘Chandaal’ (who earns his living by disposing of corpses on cremation grounds on Ganga Ghats), and in a moment of instinct, Adi Shankara said, “Move away, move away!” The Chandaal then asked a profound question: "Whom do you want to move—the body or the spirit(consciousness)?" Adi Shankara was taken aback by this question. The Chandaal continued, "From where has arisen this great delusion, which sees one as a ‘Brahman’ and the other as a ‘Chandaal’,  Don’t you see ‘Brahm’ within me? Don’t you recognise the Paramatma in me?" Adi Shankar ...

Diwali : A time for new ideas, a time for new plans

Diwali, a time to light up our homes, a time to celebrate triumph of good over evil, a time to relish with friends and family is also a good time to relax, to think, to ideate and to plan. Think about it, when was the last time you were relaxed, had 4-5 days of leisure time, free from all the pressures and deadlines, free from your tiresome daily routine.  When was the last time you didn't have to wake up early so that you can either catch the office bus or rush by your car before the traffic catches up.  When was the last time you could read a book late into the night without worrying about tomorrow's deadlines, which you are sure you are not going to meet. Diwali is the time when all these tensions and pressures takes a backseat and you feel relaxed. And as a famous author once said -  "Creativity comes when you are relaxed and when it comes it brings ideas that rock your world".  Hence, this Diwali use this leisure time for reading a book and getting ins...
